That means the content will remain the same (but with additional finishing touches) and the design will be revamped to a fresher, easier-on-the-eye design to give the site a more unique and genarally nicer look. >>> 07/11/05 - Latest 2006 info

We have recieved confirmation from Drayton Manor Park that that is indeed very possible that we will be seeing no new ride for next year. It was rumoured that the park had ordered a "Rotor" ride for next season, this was correct, although it seems they may not be recieving it and that it may be going to a park in Scotland. The park decided that it would look too tacky for their themed image. The rumoured junior suspended Pinfari to replace the Super Dragon Roller may still be being considered, as is the enclosed spinning Huss to replace Cyclone.

Although there may not be a new ride for next year, a lot more will be going on...

  • the meercats are very close to being moved to their new enclosure in the zoo
  • a second train has been ordered for G Force
  • a new staff room is being built between Robinson's Land and Pirate Adventure (maybe where the possible new development was rumoured to be, see photos here)
  • the circus show is to be replaced with a new show inspired by the books of Beatrix Potter
  • new fronts to the Shockwave have been ordered
  • a new branch of Subway sandwiches is planned to open on park

>>> 04/11/05 - Rumoured nothing for 2006

More rumours of possible plans for 2006 are that there will be no new attraction. These plans were also "confirmed" by the park, however there have now been three different rumours of possibilities for the new season. If these plans are to be true, then we can hopefully get to see a general clean-up of the whole park.

We hope to be getting a poll up soon so you can decide on your favourite plans for 2006.

>>> 17/10/05 - Pirate Cove developement

These past weeks have seen the extension of the Buccaneer Burger Bar of Pirate's Cove. The restaurant is housed within the highley themed enclosure of Pirates Adventure, and serves a variety of burgers aswell as hot & cold drinks, and ices.

It is, however, said that the recently added extension is far too big just to house more accomodation for the restaurant, which already can house over 300 eaters. Could this just be an overtly big expansion of the Diner, or could we see another the rumoured 4 Dimensional Cinema or another attraction also housed in the enclosure?

None of these possibilities are either confirmed or denied as of yet.

>>> 31/08/05 - New installation for the new season info

ManorMania has received information from Drayton Manor that the park is to install a new flat ride for next years season. This waves goodbye to any previous rumours that the park were not to add another attraction for next year as they are to start construction on their Hotel towards the end of the 2006 season.

The park plan to remove the Flying Dutchman for another minor thrill ride. All sources point to the park adding a “Rotor” by Chance Rides (similar to that of “Graviton”, the late Alton Towers ride). At present ManorMania can neither confirm nor deny this information. Nevertheless, the park has ordered next years ride and should have it open by opening day next year.

A lot of other minor changes and improvements are planned to take place around the park during closed season, including the park adding a new frontage to the Shockwave trains, so it seems that the ride is to stay with the park for many seasons yet.

>>> 11/08/05 - Stormalong Bay waterpark plans released

Plans of the £20million waterpark were today released. The new attraction is said to include around 20 waterslides and attractions along with a hotel to hold 86 bedrooms and some log cabins, a similar style to those at Center Parcs. Permission for the development to be built over a 286 acre plot of land was given last year, however the plans have been extended, and further permission must now be achieved.

Don't start planning the next family holiday at this new development yet though, as the £8million hotel complex is due to open for 2008, with the waterpark following with its opening hoped to be around 2013, eight years from now. These plots are signs of big things in Drayton's future.

>>> 31/07/05 - Restaurant catches fire!

In the late hours of Tuesday the 28th of July, ManorMania can now reveal the Fish and Chips restaurant of Ariel Park caught fire. It is said an irresponsible worker left an oven on whilst leaving Drayton Manor, later causing it to ignite the building. The extent of the damage is said to be potentially serious, and parts of the enclosure (including the roof) will have to be rebuilt. Park staff are currently clearing debris from the building and surrounding areas, and the park plan to rebuild the areas badly effected in the next month. It is unknown whether the restaurant will reopen this season, but unfortunately all signs are saying it will be closed throughout 2005, and will make a comeback in the 2006 season.
