Park Info >> Disabled Guide

Drayton Manor Park will always welcome disabled visitors into the park. They offer a range of features to try and ensure that disabled visitors can enjoy their day at Drayton Manor as anyone else would, however, health and safety must always come first.

Disabled parking can be found in the Main Entrance to the park, there is also a wheelchair rental located in the Main Entrance. Most toilets are accessable to disabled guests, check the board outside to be sure. There are information boards located near the entrance to rides providing notices of what you must be abled to do in order to ride etc.

In some cases, rides will have steps in the normal queue line, but not in the exit, therefore disabled guests are allowed to enter a ride via the exit. Once you reach the exit gate you must wait until a ride operator is available to speak to you and he will let you in whent the ride finishes (providing there isn't a queue). This will occur on rides such as Maelstrom and Apocalypse. On other rides there are stairs in both the entrance and exit, so therefore the disabled visitor must be able to walk up and down stairs un-aided to ride these rides. This occurs on rides such as Shockwave and Storm Force 10 (for these two rides you must be able to walk up and down stairs un-aided as they go up to large heights, and if they brake down the only way to evacuate the ride is by using stairs). If you enter a ride via the exit as there are steps in the normal queue, there must only be 4 or 5 people in the same party as the disabled visitor. If the disabled visitor does not ride a ride, but other members of the party are, you cannot enter through the exit of the ride.

When visiting Drayton Manor, the disabled visitor must be accompied by a helper. This is because when boarding a ride, ride operators cannot breach the health and safety acts by physically transferring the disabled visitor from a wheelchair to a ride. They must be assisted by a non-disabled person to safely get the disabled person onto the ride. Ride operators or other members of staff will have rules and procedures of how to do this.

Drayton Manor have divised a full guide providing information on the requirments for each ride. To view it, follow this link.
