Park Info >> Trip Tips
Below is a list of tips we have divised to try and maximize your great experience at Drayton.
> Make sure you have checked you have packed everything you need before setting off.
> Only bring essentials as there is a lot of standing around and walking, so carrying heavy bags will not help.
> Check the weather and bring appropriate clothing. Even if it is not going to rain you may wish to consider bringing a raincoat for Storm Force 10.
> Pack your own food if you do not want to queue and pay for food while you are there. There are plenty of picnnic spots to eat at.
>Try not to plan your visit ride for ride as many people like to do. Your plans are likely to be ruined because rides are closed or queues are too large etc. Just decide on what you want to go on first and which rides you definately want to ride.
> Try and set off as early as possible because although the rides may not be open when you arrive, you can still beat the queues.
> To get there quicker and avoid the possibility of getting stuck in traffic, if you are willing to pay and it is accessible to you, use the M6 toll road.
> School days will be the quietest and cheapest times to visit, so if possible, visit then.
> If you are visiting on a weekend Sundays are often quieter than Saturdays.
> If you are visiting in a school holiday, week days will normally still be quieter, so try and visit then.
> Visit rides such as Shockwave, Storm Force 10, G Force and Maelstrom either at the beginning or end of the day as the queues will be quieter then.
> The park is quite small compared to others, so don't rush around a lot, take your time.
> If you are trying to get on as many rides as possible, you can eat while you are in queues providing the queue is long enough and it isn't a ride such as Black Revolver. But remember it isn't about how many rides you get on, it is about the overall experience of the day. Try to relax and sit down to eat.
> Always look on the positive side of things and don't let anything put the day on a downer. For example, if the queues are very long and you don't get chance to ride much, there will be more to experience next time you visit.
> At the end of the day, the rides and park mayt be closed, but there are some restaurants in the entrance/exits which you can eat in so you don't have to worry about it on the way home.
> Make sure you remember where you left the car, if necessary, right down something to help you remember in your mobile's notebook.
> If you are just being dropped off and picked up later, be sure to use the pick up points, this way you won't have to pay for parking.
> Over everything else, enjoy your visit. |
