Ride Guide

Drayton Manor Park is split up into eight different themed areas. Whether it be an area for families, younger kids or the thrillseekers, it is all here so everyone can find an area to suit themselves. Click on a thumbnail to find out what your chosen area has in store for you.

Aerial Park

Situated at the opposite end of the park from the main entrance, this area is viewable from about anywhere within the park because of its main ride - the world famous Apocalypse. Unfortunately, this area is lacking a proper theme, with "Sombrero" and "The Flying Dutchman" thrown in with robot's revenge themed "Pandemonium" and "Apocalypse." All this with natural disaster themed "Cyclone" on the side. The up side to this is that it is an area that almost any member of the family can enjoy.

Action Park

Action Park is thrill-seeker central at Drayton Manor. It includes five of the park's major rides, including the new for 2005, G Force. Because of this, you may think that it will be a very busy area, but the rides are well spaced out compared to the rest of the park, so isn't too bad. Again there are some mixed themes in the area, but a possibility is natural disasters with Maelstrom and Shockwave.

Fisherman's Wharf

Fisherman's Wharf is set on the edge of the lake and is home to one of the UK's greatest water rides. It has a definite theme, and although the Carousel may not fit into it, the area has a strong sense of the seaside/fisherman theme all around with the lake, the splashes and the lighthouse looking down on it all.

Pirate Cove

This is the only area that has a definite theme, apart from Excalibur which strays from it a bit. The area is more about the theme than the rides, with the two main rides being a slow tour around themed areas. The pirate theme is a very strong theme that is seen in many parks, particularly with the pirate ship

Robinson's Land

Robinson's Land is an area in the corner of the park full of small flat rides for the younger ones to enjoy. There is a wide range of rides from kid-style Apocalypse - "Frog Hopper" to junior Black Revolver - "Mini Balloons." Although the area is sponsored by Robinsons, there are no rides themed around it.

Central Plaza

The Central Plaza consists of three main, large paths at a T-Junction, one path leading to the zoo, one to the Peel Plaza end of the Park, and one towards Pirate Cove and Fisherman's Wharf. It contains no rides, only a games booth. The area holds the park's structure together and although you may not go to an attraction here, you should pass through it many times.

Peel Plaza

This area contains one of the entrance gates to the park, and although the attractions are not inside the park, there is a crazy golf, and none-hole golf course covering a large area on the opposite side of the entrance road to the park. It also contains a few restauraunts and shops etc and a coach park.

Main Entrance

The Main Entrance area is, not suprisingly, the main entrance to the park. Unlike Peel Plaza it has no other attractions (apart from a train to the zoo and museums), although it does contain numerous shops and restaurants to quickly stop at on your way in/out.
